Naomi Campbell has launched an incredible range with PrettyLittleThing.
The iconic model teamed up with emerging fashion designers Victor Anate from Nigeria and Jamaica-born Edvin Thompson based in New York City. The exclusive collection marries the elegance of Naomi’s timeless fashion sense with the avant-garde vision of Anate and Thompson.
Speaking about the launch, Naomi Campbell said: “This collaboration is an extension of my commitment to create and promote opportunities for young, emerging designers. Within my collection, it was important to recognize and include some of the amazing talent that’s out there.”
“I’m very intentional about using my platform to create opportunities for the next generation of creatives from around the world,” she added.
Campbell recruited Victor Anate, a 20-year-old Nigerian designer who draws inspiration from romance, literature, and film, with each collection offering an apparel tableau for the wearer to explore and express new realities.
His company, Vicnate, established in 2019 and based in Lagos, is a contemporary meditation on glamor and the transformative power of the right piece. Victor worked with Naomi and the PLT design team on a cut-out bodycon design with Naomi to create a timeless classic that will see you through the party season.
Edvin Thompson, whose label Theophilio was established in 2016, is a contemporary ready-to-wear label celebrating culture, community, and diversity. Named winner of the CFDA award for American Emerging Designer of The Year for 2021, the Brooklyn-based label produces a range of bold staples that nod to Jamaica’s dancehall culture and New York’s restless urban energy. Edvin designed an elegant satin off-white dress to complement the collection.
