Yep, it can be a tough one alright.

Finding the perfect pair of sunglasses can be a right pain, especially if we’re rushing for that flight whisking us off on that sunny escape from the rush of life. Though scurrying around the airport is no way to purchase our sunnies, it’s inevitable that it will happen at some stage as we try and juggle our busy schedule.

So, here’s a few pointers to help find yourself the perfect pair of sunglasses depending on your shape face. At any moment, it will be easier to spot the right pair for you, and it may even make it a more enjoyable shopping experience overall.

Oval

Those who have the traditionally dainty feminine face shape have a number of options. Enhance your face shape with a Wayfarer style pair of shades or you can make it stand out that bit more by choosing oversized or even an aviator pair if you happen to be feeling the infamous 80’s vibes. Will they ever really go out of fashion? We think not.

Heart-shaped

Those with the face that symbolises love benefit hugely from sunglasses with a Ful Vue and Cat Eye shape which compliments their natural proportions stunningly. These styles are also ideal when it comes to protection from the sun as they cover a larger surface area than many other types of shades, helping to make sure you’re safe from the sun’s rays at any angle AND giving you that chilled out retro look.

If you’re looking for a more petite, neat or professional look for your shades, the Wayfarer shape is also very appealing indeed.

Square

Those who have strong cheek bones, jawline, a wide forehead and brows (it may not sound so beautiful there but we assure you it is) have a large foray available to them. Think aviator, pilot and wrap-around styles.

Square shape folk are also very lucky as they can easily pull off the butterfly style, clubstyle and pantos.

Round

Square shape sunglasses can compliment a rounded shape face delightfully, creating a sort of contrast between the two silhouettes. Oval shape sunnies as well as wayfarer (is there anything these can’t do?) is a perfect option.

Of course, everybody’s shape face is different and guides like these are very general as it’s next to impossible to identify all of you rare beauties out there and the shades that would make for a match made in heaven, but it’s a good start and will hopefully get you prepped and motivated to find the perfect pair, completing your summer look.

Also, remember that just because certain sunglasses are at the peak of those style stakes, its far better to get your hands on a pair that accentuates that stunning and distinctive face of yours.

All of the above sunglasses are available from Specsavers.
