Balenciaga have done it again… this time a €2 Ikea bag will keep you bang on trend

We previously kept you ahead of the fash pack with this Balenciaga blanket bag, if possible... this could be even better.  The fashion world is now going crazy for a €2 Ikea plastic carrier – that looks very much like one of Balenciaga's 2017 IT bags. The Italian fashion house's Spring 2017 show was filled with enormous oversize bags and vibrant colours – and we wanted everything – obvs. The draw-back? The pricetag. The cobalt-blue Arena Creased-Leather Holdall is priced at £1,365, which, you know, is a little steep for most of us to be spending on a over-sized handbag. But now, my friends, now you can get in your car and drive to Ikea and pick up an almost identical bag for a mere fraction of the price. Yup, that's right. The Frakta large blue shopping bag is a customer favourite at Ikea, so large and practical people use it for shopping, moving house and even as storage when packing stuff away. Now, we know the Balenciaga one is leather, but really, when you think about it, isn't plastic even cooler? And Demna Gvasalia at the house of Balenciaga is known for frequently drawing inspiration from street-wear and pop culture when he designs, so maybe it isn't all that strange that he would reimagine the Ikea's iconic blue shopper in luxe leather.
