The time has come! Fashion fans in the capital have been eagerly anticipating the launch of the fourth annual Dublin Fashion Festival, and today it finally kicks off in earnest. With a wonderful selection of activities across a four day calendar, we’ve paired up with the team behind DFF to bring you a selection of our favourite events over each day of the festival.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 5TH
Style on the Street
DFF Street Fashion Shows
Style takes to the streets of Dublin today with some live, on-street catwalk shows, showing off the fashionable items available from the capital’s leading retailers with north and south-side locations. The fashion shows will take place at 11:45am & 12:45pm at the Henry Street/Liffey Street Junction.
Designs on You!
Meet the Designers at Brown Thomas.
Head to one of Ireland’s favourite department stores to meet the style mavens and mavericks behind Irish Designers CREATE. The line-up for today includes KDK – Keira and Darine Kennedy (12-1pm), Martha Lynn (12pm-5pm), Honor Fitzsimons (1pm -4pm), Rebecca Marsden (12pm-2pm) and Sean Byrne (3pm-7pm). The event takes place from 12pm-7pm in level one of Brown Thomas, Grafton Street and admission is free.

Ready, Set, Style!
Stylathon at the Ilac Centre
Do you fancy yourself as a stylist? Put your skills to the test by styling yourself or a friend in an A/W 2013 trend and come along to the Style Stand where stylist Maria Kelly will be judging entrants on their efforts! Great prizes include a behind the scenes’ experience with Maria Kelly, a place on LA College of Creative Arts Fashion Stylist course and a €1,000 Shopping Spree! This event takes place from 2-5 pm in the Ilac Centre.
Lost in Wonderland
The Mad Hatter’s Party at The Church Bar
It’s a case of hat’s off to this fantastic millinery event, hosted by fashion blogger Lorna Weightman of StyleIsle.ie. Come along and show off your favourite headpiece and join in the fashion-fun. There will be a raffle on the day with an opportunity to win a designer hat. This event proves headwear is not just for race day or weddings! The Mad Hatter’s Party takes place at The Church Bar, Mary Street from 6.30pm. Admission costs €10 and all proceeds will go to Bee for Battens.
The Next Generation
Samsung Young Designer Event at Bank of Ireland, College Green
This invite-only event will showcase young designers from across the country who submitted their fashion designs to be in with the chance of winning Young Designer of the Year. Twelve finalists have been selected and these talented young designers will showcase their wares to an invited audience tonight, in the hope of winning over an elite panel of judges.
