Mick Jagger has set up a fashion scholarship to honour designer L’Wren Scott, his late girlfriend.

The scholarship will consist of a grant given to one MA student studying fashion at London’s Central Saint Martins college, on an annual basis.

It will cover the entire costs of tuition at the acclaimed college as well as some living expenses.

Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Central Saint Martin’s course director, Fabio Piras said: I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package. Our students sacrifice much to take up this course and work extremely hard while they are here,”

I am very proud of the fact that this course continues to be recognized as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion industry”.

L’Wren Scott was found dead in her apartment in March of last year and after her death, Mick Jagger released the below statement:

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.

“She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.

“I will never forget her,
Mick”
