Earlier this week we named the shortlist of finalist, chosen from thousands of nominations. Now, we’re taking a closer look at each of those categories. Next up, the fashion bloggers.
We asked readers to nominate the online read that is always bang on trend. You had your say, and now we have eight of the greatest. In alphabetical order, meet our finalists.
FFF is the work of Gemma McLean, an up-and-coming fashion blogger, stylist and model from Leitrim, Ireland. Gemma studied Fashion Industry Practice in Galway Technical Institute including Styling, Fashion PR, Design, Event Management, Sales Presentation, Buying and Merchandising and Computer Illustrated Graphics, and she is now pursuing a career in the fashion and media industry.
Penny and Polaroids launched in September 2012, and since then Nuala Gorham has been named Ireland’s Best Fashion Blog 2013 and shortlisted as Best International Blog for Company Magazine’s Blog Awards 2014 in the UK. A familiar face to many at this stage, Nuala has been featured in Grazia magazine and Look magazine as well as Irish titles Stellar and Xposé.
Erika Fox is the flame-haired lady behind Retro Flame. A graduate in Fashion Industry Practice from The Galway Technical Institute and also in Commerce (Marketing) from NUI Galway, Erika has worked with a wide range of top fashion industry professionals. Erika’s blog is a “compact diary of her travels, work, outfits and inspirations”.
Louise O’Reilly is on a mission to show just how beautiful curves can be. As an plus size/curvy model, she began blogging to “have a platform to showcase fashion diversity, [her] love for curves and body image”. Louise states that Style Me Curvy aims to “promote fashion, beauty and style for every kind of curve and body type whether a girl is a size 6 or a size 26!”
Lorna Weightman is the force behind Style Isle. Lorna splits her time between Dublin and London, and is a frequent contributor to print publications as well as her online posts. You can also find her on TV3 lifestyle shows such like Xposé and Ireland AM.

Miriam and Aoife are the twin sisters behind this delightfully named blog, so titled as one resides in Dublin and one in a ‘mid-size town in the West’. TMCM chronicles the sisters’ “differing experiences, primarily with style and fashion but also with the lifestyle and culture we both have in abundance right on our doorsteps”.
Leanne Woodfull is a 20-year-old blogger and vlogger from Dublin, Ireland who has carved out her online niche over five successful years online. She began her blogging career in 2009, and since then has shared fashion, beauty and lifestyle updates for her many fans. Leanne is currently studying Fashion Styling at LA Creative College, Dublin.
Fashion designer Carolyn describes herself as “a maker of dresses, a lover of fashion, and a gossip and news junkie”. The Dress Down is where she casts her eye over the business of celebrity and fashion.
