The Instagram pose that will show off your outfit in the best possible way

It's all over our newsfeeds.

Cathy Donohue

#OOTD.

You’ve definitely noticed the above hashtag on your Instagram feed and now there’s a secret trick to help you get the best shot of your own outfit. Minus the fancy editing apps and photographers on standby.

Pointed out by the Who What Wear team, this particular pose is designed to look effortless when really it was a few takes before you deemed it worthy of Instagram.

It’s all in the angle and is the ideal shot for when you want the focus of the photo purely on your outfit.

To be fair, the process is pretty simple and you just aim the camera slightly above your head while you’re sitting/lying on your couch/bed/chair etc.

This will allow you to photograph all the #details such as the gemstones in your midi rings, ruffles on your shirt, rips in your jeans and so on.

The below Insta posts will give you some inspiration and after scrolling through your newsfeed, you’ll probably notice some similar posts.

For example, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s take on the trend, she manages to capture her FAB shoes, gold jewellery, neutral top and cropped jeans.
