When we think of denim shorts, we often of those cute cut-off ones that barely skim our bums and have a nice little distressed detail.
But when we think of jean shorts, or “jorts”, we think of oversized, baggy, dad-style shorts that come way too far down our legs for us to ever even consider – until now.
Styling for the summer is always a nightmare, especially when the heat is there but the entire country is drowning in rain. Jeans are too warm, sun dresses aren’t working in the rain, so all that’s left are jorts.
Hailey Bieber is one of our go-to style icons when it comes to summer street style, and over the last few months, she has been making vintage denim jorts a staple in her wardrobe.
The model opts to buy hers off Denim By Orlee, and they’re almost always pre-love Levi’s that have been remastered.
Whether she’s wearing them with a lace cami and fisherman sandals or a simple crop top and Adidas Sambas, the casual approach of jorts leaves us needing a pair in every colour.
While Levi’s are definitely Hailey’s go-to brand for jorts, they’re not the only place she has been shopping for them.
Mrs. Bieber was seen sporting a pair of white denim shorts from Loulou Studio, styling them with a white crop top from Leset, a Bottega Veneta tote bag and fisherman sandals from The Row.
And as much as we love Hailey for pulling off this style like none other, she’s not the only fashion-forward gal to step out in them.

So what’s the secret to getting away with wearing jorts around Ireland this summer? As they are overly baggy, we want to keep them the only thing that is hanging off of us.
By pairing jorts with a fitted top (and it doesn’t have to be cropped like Hailey does), we can make them look much more classy. If we were to wear a baggier one, the look would instantly go from high fashion to sloppy in seconds.
Looks like we need a trip to a Levi’s store ASAP!
