It’s not often that we’re at a loss for words but our first and admittedly vocabulary challenged response to Yoko Ono’s first foray into menswear fashion was quite simply “WTF”.
Creative collaborations are all the rage these days and the latest partnership between John Lennon’s famous widow and American clothing company Opening Ceremony has to be seen to be believed.
Featuring a tank top complete with flashing nipples, jeans with a painted-on hand print at the crotch and a chest plaque that reads “Ring For Your Mommy Piece”! the whole range is the most bats thing we’ve come across in a long time.
It looks like Yoko Ono is milking her fame for all that its worth
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, the 79-year-old eccentric explained that she started creating the designs in 1969 as a wedding present to her late husband John “I was inspired to create ‘Fashions For Men’ amazed at how my man was looking so great. I felt it was a pity if we could not make clothes emphasizing his very sexy bod. So, I made this whole series with love for his hot bod and gave it to him as a wedding present. You can imagine how he went wild and fell in love with me even more.” Well they do say love is blind…
Eh, we think you might have got something on your trousers there…
We’re all for accentuating the male form in all its glory but we draw the line at flashy nipples and crotch grabbing finger prints and thankfully, there are only 52 pieces of each design available so fingers crossed the range doesn’t find its way to Irish shores anytime soon.
