Shopping tends to be a love or hate type of thing, some of us can shop till we drop while others put it off until they really have to.
For those that find it more of a hindrance than a hobby, we have put together a quick edit of the key pieces you should invest in for the spring summer season ahead.
While it’e tempting to splurge on pastel minis and pretty dresses, it’s important to remember we live in Ireland…home of rain, rain and more rain.
It’s important to get these pieces when they are in season… there’s nothing worse than having your eye on a top and then when you go to purchase, every single one is sold out.
The pieces we have selected are both fashionable and practical so you can ensure your money is well spent.
Checkmate
While check has been around for a while, this season it has a grown up feel. This luxe tee is versatile so you can recycle it to fit different looks. A smart buy, £34 (€42) at Topshop.
Pretty Pastels
While a pastel mini may not be the best idea given the Irish climate, a bright biker jacket is the way to go. This will add a pop of any colour to any outfit, €73 at River Island.
Blank Canvas
We know white isn’t the easiest colour to wear but it is a massive trend for this season. Although please remember to steer away from coffee, pizza, spaghetti bolognaise and anything messy. It’s guaranteed to end up splashed across your front…to coin a phrase from Downton Abbey’s Lady Maggie “We’re never wrong.” This white shirt €33 at River Island, is the perfect pairing with printed trousers
Slip Dresses
Feminine slip dresses made an appearance last season in sheer and lacy fabrics, this spring they have been revamped and flower power is having a field day, €11 at Penneys.
Sporty Vibe
The varsity theme made a big impact last season and sports luxe doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. There are plenty of bright cami tops and joggers on the high-street but the fast track to this trend is an oversized tee, €10 at Penneys.
Always stock up on in season produce as when something’s popular it tends to fly out of the shops!
