The stakes were raised at Fairyhouse Racecourse on Monday… and not just on the track!
Record numbers watched with glee as favourite Shut The Front Door took the Grand National, a first for jockey Barry Geraghty, and families enjoyed the live music, shopping village and kids’ activities.
For some glamorous ladies, however, the real competition was a wardrobe one! The theme for this years’s Carton House Most Stylish Lady competition was All That Glitters is Gold, and the stunning style on show proved Irish women certainly know how to sparkle.
Stylish Catherine Lundon from Mullingar, Co. Westmeath took home the coveted title, standing out from the crowd in her metallic gold peplum jacket and chic black trousers.
For her efforts, Catherine was presented with a €8,000 prize package from Carton House and a bottle of champagne from Bollinger.
Guest judges for Carton House Most Stylish Lady included international model and former Miss World Rosanna Davison as well as style svengali Brendan Courtney.
Runners-up were Marie Smith from Naas, Co. Kildare and Laura Bury from Ratoath, Co. Meath.
