First Look: Brit Designer William Tempest Designs Capsule Collection for River Island

We love a good designer, high street collaboration and William Tempest’s capsule collection for River Island doesn’t disappoint.

There’s a fine line between ballroom dancer and just the right amount of sparkle so we’re always on the hunt for effortless eveningwear that won’t leave you looking like an extra from Strictly!

And we know it’s a bit early for the C-word (Christmas in case any of you thought we were going to start hurling profanities!) but party season is just around the corner and with it, the dilemma of finding great looks that you can throw on in the office loo.

High-street designer collaborations are hit and miss but we are super impressed with the William Tempest range for River Island. Tempest won us over when he sent plus size models down the catwalk at his 2010 Spring Summer catwalk show and we’re not the only ones!

Tempest, who counts Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Emma Watson as fans, has designed a 13 piece collection with a distinctly 1920s feel. Think beaded dresses in blacks and nudes, a smattering of sequins and vintage inspired accessories that will easily jazz up existing pieces in your wardrobe without blowing your budget.

In particular this beaded black top, €87, had us at hello! And we’re also marking the nude silk shirt dress, €135 to be a sell out.

Check out the film made to showcase the collection as part of the Fash/On Film initiative at LFW.

The William Tempest for River Island collection will be available in selected River Island stores and online from October.
