It's a bit out there, but apparently red is the colour that is proven to suit everyone. "It's the colour that is right at the centre of all colour and has an equal flow through the colour spectrum," image consultant Helen Venables told WhoWhatWear. "Wearing colours under your chin that you absolutely know suit you is vital. The effect of colour so close to the face can be surprisingly powerful—slimming, enlivening and health giving or aging, adding weight and making you look as if you are exhausted." It's a colour that's variously associated with celebration, desire, power and even appetite throughout the world and always stands out from the crowd. Thankfully there are also a lot of different shades to go for, from orangey-red to deep blue-toned red, so you're bound to find one shade that'll suit you and your existing wardrobe.
