ASOS are selling chokers for men and it’s really dividing opinion

Megan Roantree

So chokers are still a thing then?

I love nostalgia as much as the next person, and when I first saw chokers pop up again after their initial peek in the 90s, I thought it was cute. But the trend quickly became ridiculous with people wearing actual shoelaces around their necks and shops going a bit overboard with the size of the chokers.

If you thought 2017 might be the year we’d see the back of them, it seems you’d be wrong. ASOS have further pushed their choker collection by selling a range for men.

It’s not that men should not wear chokers, because, quite frankly people can wear whatever they want, however, we’re really not feeling this look, regardless of gender.

The chokers, which are featured in the men’s section of the site, come in velvet, paisley and wraparound varieties.

The chokers cost around €7.

Some people were horrified to see this product on sale.

However, in contrast, some people were pretty excited about the new range.

The reaction has been mixed and we are very interested to see if this catches on.

What do you make of it?
