The only good thing about rain is raincoats.
They’re pretty, they’re comfortable, they protect you from the rain – all you need from a mac, to be honest.
We’ve come a very long way since the popularity of the iconic yellow mac, and even though those are still a staple of any decent wardrobe, there are a plethora of divine raincoats on sale at the minute that’ll make sure that your ss/18 look isn’t ruined by the weather.
If anything, they’ll make it better, to be honest.
There’s pastel coloured raincoats, holographic raincoats, long raincoats, short raincoats, raincoats that don’t have a hood which is kind of pointless but who are we to argue with fashion?
Most of them retail for under 50 quid too, which is really isn’t too bad for a coat that’ll keep you dry and looking class.

Forever21 – €38.00
Forever21 might be leaving Ireland (sad), but their website is still very much up and running and, lucky for us, there’s a nice selection of macs to choose from.
The above is absolutely the prettiest one though.
The clear pink floral effect vinyl is so stunning we’d 100 percent be caught wearing it when there wasn’t even a cloud in the sky.
New Look – €44.99
This pastel yellow raincoat is a bit of a nod back to the classic bright yellow, but a lot more chill.
It also comes in an array of class colours so you take your pick from anything from blue to pink to green.
PrettyLittleThing – €33.75
We know what you’re thinking – but much for the day to day.
… Which would be fairly true but just look how jazzy and metallic it is.
Imagine how many people would stare at you as you ran down the road in the lashings of rain wearing this… for whatever reason.
It also comes in pink, so, you know.
Topshop – €68.00
Topshop is expensive at the best of times.
This is one of those times.
Sixty-eight quid for a raincoat is absolutely more than we’d be willing to drop just to stay dry, but we also can’t deny how chic this white coat is.
Just don’t go near any mud, yeah?
Boohoo – €20.00
You can’t beat the classic, to be fair.
And this is a fairly decent price for one too.
Boohoo know what their customers want – to be dry, look well, and not spend a lot of cash.
