A young boy has been airlifted to hospital in critical condition following a road accident in Co. Waterford.
The child was rushed to Cork University Hospital following the incident on Friday, July 21st.
He was in a critical condition when he arrived at the hospital on Friday evening.
According to CorkBeo, the young child was hit by a car at a private property in Dungarvan. Only one car was involved in the accident.
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the harrowing accident.
A spokesperson told The Irish Examiner:
“Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances of a road traffic incident that was reported this afternoon, Friday 21st July 2023 on private property in Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
“An infant boy appears to have been involved in a collision with a vehicle.
Gardaí confirmed the boy remains in a critical condition following the accident.
“The boy was transferred by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“An Garda Síochána has no further information at this time.”
