Best put another log on the fire and dig out those thermals, the freezing weather is set to stick around for the coming week.
With temperatures dropping to -3C in parts of the country overnight, Sunday started with snowfall for some homes in the West.
Met Eireann have warned that wintry showers are expected to continue over the north and west of the country today, with lows of -5C later on this evening.
The plummeting weather is set to continue right into mid-week, with highs of 3-4C forecast.
Met Eireann forecaster John Eagleton said:
“The weather is set to stay cold, not only for the weekend, but most of next week as well, with low daytime temperatures below freezing at night.”
Best hang onto the jumpers for a while longer yet…
