Last night, video footage emerged of Donald Trump making derogatory sexual comments about women emerged.
The footage, purportedly from 2005, was shared on The Washington Post, and you can see it here.
In response, Canadian author Kelly Oxford, instigated a Twitter thread where women shared accounts of the first time they experienced sexual assault.
There was a huge response and you can see the thread in full here.
Women: tweet me your first assaults. they aren’t just stats. I’ll go first:
Old man on city bus grabs my “pussy” and smiles at me, I’m 12.

.@kellyoxford I was 11. An older boy walked me home, turned around w/ his dick out. I just realized: I have no memory of what happened next.

@EmilyLindin Looking at FB and Twitter it seems like a lot of people have been triggered and I am just so sad for all of us.

@kellyoxford neighbor’s dad comes by when mom is out of town to “check on me.” Tells me I’m very mature. I’m 15. Tries to kiss me; I scream.

@kellyoxford Age 13, crowd-surfed at a music festival. Ended up with many much older men’s hands down my pants and up my shirt.

@kellyoxford Saddest thing: it took me a bit to consider what was my “first” assault. Had to list them out.

If you have not looked at my time line, please do. I’ve had a million women describe their assaults tonight. A million. This is not nothing.
