A woman has given birth to twins 26 days after giving birth to her first child.
Bangladeshi woman Arifa Sultana welcomed her premature son in February of this year.
Less than a month later she was rushed to hospital with stomach pains, where she later gave birth to two more children.
Doctors failed to notice that 20-year-old Sultana had a second womb - or that there was a pair of twins growing inside of it.
BBC News reports that the gynaecologist who carried out the emergency C-section to deliver the other two babies was stunned.
"I have never observed something like this before," said Dr Sheila Poddar.
"When the patient came in we performed an ultrasound on her and found there were twin babies. We were very shocked and surprised."
Dr Poddar said that Sultana and her family were "very poor" and that she had "never" had an ultrasound before her second hospital visit.
"She had no idea that she had two other babies," said the gynaecologist. "We carried out a caesarean and she delivered twins, one male and female."
"The babies and her are all healthy. I am very, very happy that everything went well."
Sultana and her twins were allowed to leave hospital after four days on March 25.
The new mother has since been diagnosed with uterus didelphys, a condition that means she has two working wombs.
It is estimated that the condition affects approximately one in 1,000 women in the UK.
