A third person is confirmed to have died following a shooting in County Fermanagh.
Two children and one woman lost their lives in the incident, with a fourth person, a man, remaining hospitalised with serious injuries.
Superintendent Robert McGowan confirmed that the four people were from the same household and all suffered gunshot wounds.
A murder investigation is now underway with the PSNI, with detectives 'working at pace to determine the circumstances.'
The woman and one of the children were pronounced dead at the scene, while the man and the other child were taken to hospital.
The man was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, and the child by ambulance to South West Acute Hospital.
Emergency services arrived at the scene near the Drummer Road area of Maguiresbridge village shortly after 8 am this morning, July 23.
Ambulances found all four people wounded inside the property upon their arrival.
Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the shooting.
Superintendent McGowan revealed that the suspect has a 'limited footprint' with police and added that he is aware that this incident will have sent 'shockwaves of sadness throughout the community'. He confirmed that there will be a continued police presence in the area.
He expressed his 'sympathy to family members and loved ones who are today left in total shock, and who will inevitably be struggling to come to terms with their unimaginable loss.'
Superintendent McGowan continued to explain that the scene was 'very difficult' for police to attend.
While PSNI enquiries are at an early stage, he has asked for 'patience as we work to understand the events that have taken place.'
Additionally, the PSNI appealed for anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to contact them.
First Minister of Northern Ireland, Michelle O'Neill, said she is 'absolutely heartbroken by the news'.
"I have no doubt that the people of Maguiresbridge will come together and support one another through this incredibly difficult time," she added.
Ulster Unionist MLA for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Diana Armstrong, called the news 'heartbreaking' and 'distressing'.
"The loss of life and the serious injuries reported have shocked the local community.
"My thoughts are with the families of those affected and with everyone in the community as they come to terms with this tragedy."
Drummeer Road currently remains closed, and police have warned the public of traffic delays on alternative routes.
