Wicklow man in ‘shock’ after winning six-figure EuroMillions prize with ticket he forgot about

A man from Wicklow was left in shock after winning a six-figure EuroMillions prize with a ticket he left in his pocket over the weekend.

The man who has remained anonymous won the hefty prize in last Friday’s EuroMillions draw, taking home a life-changing sum.

When speaking about the moment he realised he was the winner, he admitted that he didn’t check his ticket for days.

He said: “I had the ticket in my pocket all weekend before it even crossed my mind to check it on the Monday after the draw.

“When I scanned the ticket on the app, I got the message to say ‘You’ve Won Big’ but I had no idea just how much I had actually won.”

After ringing the claims department at the National Lottery’s HQ, he found out just how much he had actually won and was in a state of “total shock”.

He said he never usually wins prizes, so to come across one of this magnitude must be something very special.

The winning ticket was bought in The Gem on Quinsborough Road in Bray and the sweet man says he will use the money to help out his family.

The lucky player won exactly €318,087 in the EuroMillions draw on Friday June 23rd after matching five numbers and one lucky star.
