Westlife have asked fans in Malaysia to get behind the search for missing teen Nora Quoirin.

The band, which has a major following in Asia, last night played the first of two tour dates in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

The lads took a moment while on stage to appeal for anyone with information that could help lead authorities to the 15-year-old to come forward, according to The Sun.

“We call on all the people in this country to offer their assistance in providing the latest information on Nora’s disappearance,” Nicky told the crowd at Malawati Indoor Stadium.

“We are sure her family is now hoping for Nora to return to their arms safely.

“[We are sure Nora’s] family is very grateful for your help.

“Thank you Malaysia.”

Westlife also shared a poster with information about Nora’s disappearance on Twitter, asking fans to spread the word online.

“It’s very upsetting to hear this news,” they tweeted.

Search for Nora

Nora was first reported missing from the Dusun Resort, around 60km from Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday.

The teen, who has learning difficulties, was on holiday with her two siblings, her French father Sebastian and her Belfast-born mother Meabh.

A major search operation was launched in the surrounding rainforest but has so far failed to yield any clues as to her disappearance.

Malaysian police initially treated it as a missing persons case but yesterday conceded that Nora may have been abducted after unidentified fingerprints were found in the cottage the family was staying in.

Over 260 people, a number of sniffer dogs, drones and a helicopter have been deployed to help in the search.

Yesterday a recording of Nora’s mother’s voice was played on megaphones throughout the rainforest.

A fundraising campaign has been set up to help with any unforeseen costs in the search for Nora. You can donate to the GoFundMe page here.
