The two-year-old girl who was found injured in a Cork apartment this morning has died.
Gardaí were called to the Boreenamanna Road apartment at approximately 5.18am, where the infant was discovered with “serious injuries.”
She was taken to Cork University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
An investigation has been launched into the toddler’s death and an incident room has been established at Anglesea Street Garda Station.
A technical examination of the apartment will be carried out this morning. The results of the post mortem will determine the course of Gardaí’s investigation.
No arrest have been made at this time.
