A teenager who featured in the RTÉ show Raised by the Village has died suddenly.
15-year-old Cian Neville from Ringsend passed away suddenly on August 23rd, surrounded by his loved ones.
As part of the show, which aired last year, the teenager spent a week on the Payne family’s farm in Tulsk in Roscommon, where he swapped Dublin city for an experience of rural life.
Cian was laid to rest in Glasnevin on Saturday, August 30th, following a funeral mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Ringsend.
Owners of Hilltop Dairies in Ballybeg, who the young man stayed with during the show, paid tribute to the young man, saying their week together was one they'll never forget.
"2 years ago, we got to spend a week with Cian, it was a brilliant week filled with laughter and learning from each other, a week we will never forget.
"We are deeply saddened to say that today we joined his family and huge circle of friends to say goodbye to Cian, forever 15."
Furthermore, Dottie's Doghouse in Castlerea paid tribute to Cian, who spent time there during his stint on the show.
"I got some very sad news this evening. The lovely boy who was with us for the tv series 'Raised by the village' sadly passed away last week.
"He was a true little gentleman and I really enjoyed my time with him in the making of the series. Absolutely gutted for his mam dad and siblings.
