Tributes have poured in as a woman in her 30s killed in a car crash in Donegal has been named locally as Donna McDermott.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday night (September 6) and left two other people, a female driver of the vehicle (70s), and a male front seat passenger (50s) injured.
Gardaí say that Ms McDermott was the back seat passenger in one of the vehicles and was fatally injured as a result of the crash.
A male teenage driver of the second vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
Paying tribute to their former player, a statement from Moville Celtic football club in Donegal said: "It’s is with great sadness that we hear of the sudden passing of a former player of the club - Donna McDermott
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Donna’s family during this unimaginable time."
A tribute posted in the Inishowen Ladies Darts League Facebook page said: "It is hard to put into words just how heartbroken and shocked we all are at the news that Donna McDermott has tragically passed away after the car accident in Quigley's point last night.
"Donna as a team member of the Ferryport ladies darts team was always so full of fun on our nights out and had a heart of gold, we all have wonderful happy memories of her I just hope she knew how much she was loved by us all.
"Deepest sympathy to her Mother Mary who is recovering in hospital from injuries sustained in the same accident, to all her family and friends we send our deepest condolences, we will never forget her, rest in peace Donna, you were one of the best, reunited now with your beloved daddy."
On Saturday, Gardaí said they are appealing for any witnesses to the collision in Donegal to come forward.
"Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to Gardaí," a Garda spokesperson also said.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
