There is major travel chaos as Aer Lingus announces the cancellation of over 500 flights.
Several flights departing Dublin to European cities are believed to be getting cut, while the cancellation of flights departing Cork and Shannon are also in the mix.
According to The Sunday Independent routes such as Dublin to Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin, Faro and Zurich are among those being axed.
Cancellations may also affect those travelling to British airports like Birmingham, Edinburgh, Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle.
Such resports came after the publication allegedly saw internal documents from the airline.
Reportedly, some North American services, such as Minneapolos-St Paul, San Francisco, Seattle and Toronto also set for disruption.
‘Mandatory maintenance’ has been cited as the reason for the cancellations.
In a statement to Extra.ie, Aer Lingus said they have ‘commenced operating its planned summer schedule'.
"A number of recent cancellations have been required due to mandatory maintenance on aircraft, along with a limited number of schedule adjustments.
"Where schedule adjustments are being made, the vast majority of customers are being reaccommodated on same day services," they continued.
