Things between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may still be pretty bad, but that isn’t stopping the actor from becoming her new next door neighbour (eh…sort of…)
The Irish Daily Mirror reports that the actor is currently house hunting for a “secluded” home in New York, so he can be close enough to spend more time with his daughter.
According to reports, Tom wants a home that is pretty much adjacent to where Katie currently lives and the star has already sent his representatives to the local estate agents on his behalf. Tom’s representatives are apparently looking at property options in Westchester County, Stamford and Greenwich.
Cruise has stated that his new home must be secure and discreet with a strong “suburban presence” that will offer Suri privacy and a sense of normalcy as she grows up.
Now, maybe we’re just being cynical, but won’t Suri lose all sense of normalcy when she is finally old enough to understand all those crazy rumours surrounding her parents’ relationship?

“He wants something extremely secluded where Suri can play without paparazzi watching. There are lots of them in these towns,” said a source.
Tom and Katie’s divorce was finalised within a few short weeks, and at present, Katie has full custody of Suri. However, Tom has vowed that he will contest this and is believed to be challenging the ruling.
Although Tom is planning on keeping the original family home in Beverly Hills, he is determined to uproot himself and move to New York in the hopes that he will be allowed to see Suri on a more regular basis.
