The content creator, who made videos about fitness and wellbeing, passed away on January 11, according to an online obituary.
People reports that the social media star's death has been ruled as suicide.
O'Donnell had more than 842,000 followers on TikTok and another 241,000 followers on Instagram.
Along with his fitness videos, he also spoke openly about mental health and an advocate for substance abuse awareness, having got sober in 2018.
He also posted about his dog and his time outdoors.
One of his last posts on TikTok was a clip of himself giving a speech at his brother's wedding, which he said he thought about while "reminiscing on old memories."
He wrote that the moment was "one of my proudest moments as a brother, being able to send these two off into the next chapter of their lives."
On Instagram, one of his most recent posts was a reel filled with footage of his recent hikes and adventures.
In the caption, he wrote: "I wonder when I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I’m lying in the dirt, if you’d remember my face."
Kevin Clevenger, who also shares fitness videos and coaching advice, shared a moving tribute to O'Donnell with his 6.9m followers on TikTok.
Alongside clips of Chris O'Donnell, Clevenger wrote: "One day I'll find peace in knowing you're not in pain anymore, but today my heart aches that you're gone. I love you. @Chris O’Donnell"
