Three Arrested Following Armed Robbery At Filling Station In Cork City

A woman and two men have been arrested this evening after an armed robbery at a filling station in Cork.

The incident occurred on the Leitrim Road in Cork City shortly after 8.20pm when two men held up the station wearing balaclavas and carrying knives. According to the Evening Echo, they stole a quantity of cash and escaped in a waiting car, which was being driven by a third man and contained a female passenger.

The car was later stopped by Gardaí and while three of the occupants were arrested, one man escaped on foot.

The three detained by Gardaí are believed to be range in age from late 20s and mid 40s and are being held at Mayfield and Gurranabraher Garda Station.
