Let’s talk underwear – it’s something we all need, and we all know that finding the perfect fit whether it be bra or knicker-shaped, is something of a holy grail.
What we mean is, once you find a shop that has unmentionables that give you a great lift and shape, you need to hold on to that retail heaven with both hands and never let it go – which is exactly what one Limerick city councillor is doing.
The Irish Daily Star reports that Cllr Orla McLoughlin is literally pleading for Marks and Spencer to set up shop in Limerick city because she believes it will give the area a major lift (and because she absolutely loves their lingerie).
“We should do everything we can to bring Marks and Spencer into town,” she said, speaking at the monthly meeting of Limerick City Council this week.
“I am a lady. I like clothes in all shops. But in particular I like the lingerie section in Marks and Spencer. It has a certain je ne sais quoi,” she added.
Speaking to the Irish Daily Star yesterday, the councillor, who is the daughter of Gerry McLoughlin (the current mayor of Limerick city and a rugby legend) said: “I grew up in the UK and spent from the age of 12-26 in Cardiff, and all of my underwear came from Marks and Sparks.”
In fact, Orla loves M&S undies so much, that she regularly travels to the department store in Cork or Tipperary to stock up.
“Limerick city is in dire need of new retails and we need a big name, not just for women but men too,” said Orla.
As of yet, Marks and Spencer have refused to say if they are considering opening a store in Limerick, but on the plus side, if they do decide to open there, at least they already know their sales of underwear will be high with Orla knocking around.
