There’s going to be a rare Supermoon tonight and tomorrow night

It's going to be at it's biggest since January 1948.

As the satellite orbits closer to planet Earth for the first time in 70 years, the skies are set to be totally lit up tonight 13th and Monday 14th November. According to The Independent, the last time the moon appeared this big and bright was 1948. According to scientists, when the moon is close to the earth, it's deemed the perigee stage. The perigee stage means the moon appears bigger and brighter and will bring tides in higher than usual. Reportedly, the 'Supermoon' won't come this close to Earth again until November 2034, so for those of you with a fondness for astrology, keep your eyes pealed. In a statement, NASA said

"The full moon of Nov. 14 is not only the closest full moon of 2016 but also the closest full moon to date in the 21st century."

The Supermoon can be seen clearest out in open spaces, in the countryside or out far away from other bright lights. If you do miss the rare appearance of the moon, which will be at its biggest this century, there's due to be another one on 14th December - but it won't be as big as the one visible tonight and tomorrow.
