Jennifer Lopez was left in shock over the weekend when the car she was travelling in was smashed in to by a driver who she claims was drunk.
The singer was riding in the passenger seat of the car alongside best friend Leah Remini of King of Queens fame.
“Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!” the 45-year-old wrote on her Instagram account, along with a photo of the two women.
It is reported that her six-year-old twins, Emme and Max, along with Leah’s daughter Sofia were in the backseat at the time, and that thankfully everyone is okay.
The driver fled the scene of the accident, which is believed to have happened along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. J.Lo and co were stopped at a red light when the pickup truck hit them and then took off.
The accident took place around 8.00pm on Saturday while the pair were driving in J.Lo’s new SUV.
They called 911 and reported the incident to police. It is believed that local police located the driver nearby and that he was in fact driving under the influence. He was arrested for DUI and for hit and run. No injuries were reported.
The singer captioned this image on her Instagram account: "
