Teenager crashes her car while doing the Bird Box challenge

A 17-year-old in the United States crashed her car after trying the Bird Box challenge while driving.

The challenge, inspired by the Netflix horror film of the same name, basically involves people wearing blindfolds as they try and go about their normal day-to-day lives. Despite the fact that Netflix have issued a statement asking fans to stop doing the challenge, that hasn't really deterred people from trying it. https://twitter.com/laytonpolice/status/1083767946814447616? KUTV report that the Utah teenager attempted the challenge while driving down the highway, with her beanie hat pulled over her eyes. According to the publication, as well as the local police department, she soon veered into the other lane and hit another car, a light pole and a sound wall. Travis Lyman, an officer with the Layton police, urged people to think things through before they try any viral challenge. He told the publication:

“It kind of goes without saying, or should, but ‘Don’t drive with your eyes covered’, but you know apparently we do have to say that. "The stakes are just so high and it’s just such a potentially dangerous thing as it is: to try and do it in that way is inexcusable. It really puts everybody at risk."

Thankfully, nobody was injured.
