The staff at Ashford Castle are over the moon after being awarded a double five-star Forbes rating.
A five-star rating signifies that a property has attained the pinnacle of excellence in luxury travel, as recognised by Forbes Travel Guide.
Ashford Castle dates back all the way to the 13th century and was once even home to the Guinness family.
You can find the castle on the shores of Lough Corrib in Co Mayo. Forbes Travel Guide described its grounds as 'nothing short of epic'.
Ashford Castle has a total of 83 accommodations, comprising 77 guest rooms, five luxe suites, and the secluded Boathouse, which is especially popular among honeymooners and lovebirds.
Each accommodation also features a generously proportioned bathroom, elegantly appointed with Connemara marble and complemented by organic Voya products.
Aside from comfortable and luxurious accommodation, Ashford Castle also features a spectacular restaurant, a medieval-style pub, and a Victorian tea room.
The interior is as stunning as the exterior, with original features such as grand staircases, antiques, and rich tapestries exuding a warm charm.
If you enjoy being out and about, there’s plenty to do, from boat cruises and fishing trips to horse riding.
However, if the weather is not on your side and you don't fancy getting adventurous, there's always their award-winning spa, which is the only Forbes Travel Guide five-star spa in Ireland.
Ashford Castle’s Managing Director, Niall Rochford, said: "We’re in seventh heaven but will never take a top Forbes ranking for granted," adding that the whole team is "overjoyed" with the achievement, per Goss.ie
"A Forbes Five-Star ranking is earned through the collective passion, pride, and commitment of our people, and I know that the recognition is personal to each member of the Ashford Castle family," Mr Rochford continued.
"Such a distinguished acknowledgement speaks to the extraordinary and consistent care the team brings to each guest experience, and retaining such a prestigious accolade reflects the warm and professional hospitality that defines Ashford Castle."
Ashford Castle became Ireland's first hotel to earn a five-star ranking on the annual honours list in 2020 and has proudly maintained its Forbes Travel Guide five-star status for seven consecutive years.
