Add us as a preferred source on Google »The man who died in Donegal after a tree fell on a car during Storm Éowyn has been named as 20-year-old Kacper Dudek.
At around 5.30am on Friday (24 January), Gardaí were alerted to a serious road traffic incident at Feddyglass in Raphoe.
Subsequently, Gardaí and local emergency services attended the scene where, during the storm, a tree fell on a car.
A man - later identified by An Garda Síochána as Mr Dudek - was fatally injured during the incident.
"The body of the deceased man has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course," a Garda spokesperson said.
"A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to provide support to the family of Mr Dudek (RIP)."
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
