As the school year comes to an end across the country, the former Taoiseach is also commemorating the last day of the school year.
Harris posted to Instagram a photo with his daughter, Saoirse, saying how fast time flew this year.
"How is that school year done?" Harris wrote in the caption.
"Seems like only yesterday we walked Saoirse to her first day in primary school. Junior infants completed today!"
Harris also gave tribute to teachers as the end comes to an end as well.
"Huge respect for teachers - the transformational nature of their work in the formation of our children is incredible.
"Wishing them all a well-deserved break and time with their families."
The former Taoiseach shared that he hopes everyone will enjoy this summer.
"And wishing all the primary school children finishing today - and their parents! - a good summer."
Commenters found Harris's tribute heartwarming.
One person wrote:
"Thank you for your recognition of the work of teachers and the importance of the work they do, too often underestimated, demeaned, and misunderstood."
Another said, "Well done Saoirse! She's a credit to you Simon."
A third added, "Time flys by so fast before you know it they will be in college, enjoy the summer."
