So it seems like Simon Cowell took a break from judging other people recently and decided to help rescue them instead. Yes, the music mogul apparently helped save the lives of 9 people who were stuck on a sinking boat.
The X-Factor judge was reportedly relaxing on his very own luxury yacht in the middle of the Mediterranean on Monday when he suddenly got word of the boat in trouble and went to help.
The events unfolded via his BFF Sinitta’s Twitter page, where she tweeted the following to her 134,098 followers:
According to the Irish Daily Star, Simon sent his yacht to the area where the people were on trouble and helped to evacuate them from the boat. He had his own staff use special equipment to pip water out of the struggling boat.
Simon’s BFF Sinitta tweeted about the incident.
“When the call came through no one knew exactly how serious it was so everyone stopped what they were doing and went to help,” said an insider who was on Simon’s boat at the time.
“Thankfully, everyone was okay and Simon’s team got there in time,” the insider added.
So, while Simon appears to be a bit mean and grumpy every time he appears on the television, underneath the harsh judge act, there’s actually a heart of gold. Who knew?
