Shameless star Emmy Rossum marries Mr Robot creator Sam Esmail

It’s congratulations for Emmy Rossum this morning as she wakes up a married woman after saying 'I do' to her partner, Sam Esmail, over the weekend.

Emmy and writer-director Sam got engaged in 2015 after two years together and finally made it all official in New York yesterday. According to People, the pair held their ceremony at the east 55^th street Conservative Synagogue in the city and the guest list included names like Robert Downey JR., William H. Macy, Rami Malek, Christian Slater and Hilary Swank. Emmy is said to have walked down the aisle in a custom Carolina Herrera wedding gown.

The 30-year-old actress previously revealed the story of how Sam proposed while appearing on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix show, saying:

“I happened to be in the bathtub when it happened. And then I realised that it was happening. And then I got out of the bathtub because I didn’t want the story to be that I was in the bathtub when it was happening. And then I got cold as it was still going on, got back in the bathtub. “It was a comedy of errors, but it all worked out.”

Let’s hope her nuptials ran a little bit smoother.
