A lovely tale from the Treaty County...

We can’t get enough of the Rubberbandits.

Hailing from Limerick, the comical pair are outspoken on important issues such as repealing the 8th amendment and mental health, which is exactly what we need in this country.

Limerick amongst other cities such as Galway, and the Three Sisters (Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny) are currently hosting their bid to be crowned the Capital of Culture in 2020 where each competitor is holding a number of events to showcase their area’s beauty and culture.

Spotted on JOE.ie, an act that’s sure to bolster moral for the upcoming announcement of the winner of the Capital has been captured by comedians Rubberbandits.

Along with the help of Darren Ryan Photography, the duo captured an endearing moment between Limerick artist John Shinnors and a local boy.

Posting the photo on Facebook, the comics explained the background to the photo.

“This here sums up ‪#‎Limerick2020‬ party in the City today. The lad in the hat is world famous Limerick  artist John Shinnors. His paintings have sold for a quarter of a million. A cheeky youngfella walked up  and offered him a tenner for a painting he was working on, and shinnors sold it to him. For a tenner.  YURT.
