The actions of an Irish man have been branded as “remarkably stupid” by a judge in Australia in court this week.
Hugh McMahon was in court following an incident that saw him become stuck in a roof cavity as he tried to sneak into a Sydney nightclub.
The court heard that emergency services had to rescue the 18-year-old from the roof of the nightclub.
“Drunk or sober, it is a remarkably stupid thing you’ve done,” said Magistrate Ron Kilner.
Mr. McMahon was fined $900 and was also ordered to pay $1,700 for repairs to the damaged roof.
According to reports, Mr. McMahon was thrown out of the nightclub twice before attempting to sneak back in through the roof.
