RTÉ has announced that Ray D'Arcy is leaving his show on RTÉ Radio 1, and that his final show was yesterday.
"After over 11 years on RTÉ Radio 1, The Ray D’Arcy Show is set to come to an end this week - Ray presented his show for the final time yesterday," a statement released by the broadcaster said.
It adds: "Ray and his team produced thousands of hours of live radio, capturing real-life stories and a huge range of personal experiences."
Details of what will happen next on Radio 1 will come in due course, but RTÉ’s Director of Audio, Patricia Monahan said: "Shay Byrne will present for the remainder of the week."
Monahan also thanked D'Arcy for his contribution to the radio channel over the last 11 years.
"While The Ray D’Arcy Show is not part of our future plans, we wish him well in his future endeavours," she said.
Byrne currently presents Rising Time, the morning music programme on RTÉ Radio 1.
