Ray D’Arcy Show to discuss the most topical issue of the moment this weekend

Orlaith Condon

The show will have discussions on the verdict in the Belfast rape trial front and centre this weekend.

As the country took to the streets today to show their support by declaring #IBelieveHer, Ray D’Arcy is to talk about how the issue of consent is being talked about in this country in the aftermath of one of the most talked about trials of its kind in this country.

Rape survivor Niamh Ni Dhomhnaill, Chief Executive of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre Noeline Blackwell and psychotherapist Ritchie Sadler will be on the sofa to share their thoughts on the issue and how it has impacted the general public up and down the country.

Thousands of people took to the streets across Ireland today to show solidarity with rape victims.

The solidarity rallies were organised after a jury found Paddy Jackson not guilty of rape and sexual assault, Stuart Olding not guilty of rape. Blane McIlroy was also found not guilty of exposure and Rory Harrison not guilty of charges for perverting the course of public justice and withholding information.

Also on the show this Saturday night will be one of Ireland’s biggest musical theatre stars Rebecca Storm, one of the stars of The Young Offenders Shane Casey and Kevin Sharkey will be in studio to talk about his aspirations to become Ireland’s first black president.
