Speaking to New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin at the 2024 NYT DealBook Summit, he set the record straight.
The columnist commented on how people are 'fascinated' by everything [Harry] is doing all the time', and fascinated by Meghan, who he pointed out was not accompanying the Prince.
"And there's articles left and right about, you know, 'Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren't you doing them together?'" asked Sorkin.
Prince Harry quickly replied: "Because you invited me, you should have known!"
Sorkin continued to ask the 40-year-old if the interest in him was 'a good thing', to which he responded: "No, that's definitely not a good thing."
He added: "Apparently, we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'"
Prince Harry spoke about media misinformation at the summit, as well as the dangers of the digital world, revealing that the only way to deal with rumours, is to ignore them.
"It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls.
"Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do," he continued.
The father of two went on to say that even the words he had just spoken at the summit would 'no doubt' be twisted against him.
He concluded by explaining that ignoring the online hate helps him to achieve his 'main goal' of 'being the best husband and dad he can be'.
