A pregnant nurse lost her baby after she was hurt in an incident in the A&E department of a Chinese hospital.

Wang Ting was working in the A&E department of the People’s Hospital in Giulin County when three “drunk” men entered the hospital.

Shanghai News reports that one of the men asked to see a doctor because he had hurt his eyes.

“I could smell alcohol on them and they seemed to be drunk,” said Wang Ting who was alone on duty at the time.

“I told them that the doctors were busy and asked them to wait for a while, but they started to curse at me,” she continued.

Twenty-six-year-old Wang tried to reason with the men but one of them allegedly pushed her to the ground.

The publication reports that when a group of doctors and nurses came to her aid, a scuffle broke out and the nurse was pushed to the ground for the second time.

After the incident, Wang complained of pains in her stomach and she went for an emergency scan.

Doctors could not find the baby’s heartbeat and the child was delivered stillborn.

According to reports, the three men are now in custody.
