A popular Dublin city bar has been broken into and set on fire.
Peruke and Periwig on Dawson Street took to Instagram to share details of the incident.
"To our loyal customers, unfortunately, we had a break-in last night and a small fire started in our building," they wrote.
They added: "The fire was contained to a storage area and thankfully, our bar and beautiful lounges were not damaged. Subject to full building checks, we hope to reopen later this evening."
The business went on to thank 'An Garda Síochána and the Dublin Fire Brigade for their quick response', as well as their 'neighbours and friends who have been in touch today'.
"Your support is so appreciated.
"Keep an eye on our socials for further updates.
"We look forward to getting back to what we do best," they concluded.
In a statement to JOE, An Garda Síochána said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of an incident of burglary and criminal damage by fire, at a licensed premises on Dawson Street, Dublin 2, that occurred this morning, Friday 19th September 2025 at approximately 4.55am.
"Fire services extinguished the fire, and made the area safe.
"No injuries were reported at the time."
They continued: "The scene is preserved for technical investigation.
"The road is currently open.
"No further information is available at this time."
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
