One person has been arrested after the bodies of three children were found at a house in London.

According to Sky News, a 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody after the Metropolitan Police were called out to the home in New Malden, south London, on Tuesday night.

In a statement, the Met said: “Police were called at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 22 April, to three children found dead at an address in New Malden.

“Detectives have begun an investigation. One person has been arrested and remains in custody at a south London police station”.

It is believed that the three children had a “life-limiting genetic disorder”. Neighbours told reporters that a couple from South Africa moved into the house with their four children six months ago.

The father and their eldest child are said to be abroad but are travelling back to London today.
