"We are proud to support and invest in Irish towns and communities and this announcement today reflects our ongoing commitment to Irish retail."
In other Penneys news, the company revealed that they have launched a brand new website.
The new website has been launched in Ireland following the success of the UK website last year and is aiming to connect the journey between searching online and then shopping in store.
The new site features thousands of products from across Penneys’ best-selling ranges as well as enhanced navigation and a new feature that allows you to check stock availability and size in their local Penneys store.
A virtual shop window pops up as you log on and features a wider range of the latest collections of fashion, homeware, lifestyle, beauty and more.
The new site allows you to browse and explore every collection and see what's new in store. But the best part? You'll now be able to check if an item is in stock in your local store and check the exact information of each product.
Customers will also be able to create an account which you can add products to a wishlist, making it easier to shop in store when it comes to buying everything your heart desires.Signs Charleen Murphy could be heading into the Love Island villa
