The young girl was stabbed in the Parnell Square attack in November
A young girl who was seriously injured in the Parnell Square attack has been readmitted to ICU.
The young girl has suffered a “setback” according to her family.
They shared the update on their official GoFundMe page this week.
The girl’s family shared: “Hello again. Just a quick update. We had a bit of a setback and are currently in the ICU once more.”
As upsetting as this setback is, the family stressed that these things are to be expected.
Despite this, her family remains hopeful and believes she will be released from ICU soon.
They continued: “Bumps in the road, particularly this long one, are to be expected. Nevertheless, we are still positive and hoping to get back on the ward.
“Fingers crossed. Barróg from Temple Street,” they added.
At the beginning of this year, the young girl’s family confirmed she had entered the third stage of her recovery.
They said that this would be the longest stage of her recovery as she needs to relearn everything due to the injuries she suffered.
“This will be the longest as she will relearn everything as a result of her injury.
“She has done really well thus far and the medical team is very happy with her improvement,” they wrote,
“Once again, she is so strong and we are proud to be by her side supporting her, guiding her, and, above all, loving her every step of the way,” her family added.
The young girl’s GoFundMe page is still open for donations.
Over €76,000 has been raised for her so far.
