A pesky typo can change the entire tone of a message and retail chain SuperValu learned that lesson the hard way this week.
When texting customers to inform them of their new price promotions on frozen turkeys, the supermarket made a very unfortunate spelling mistake.
The gaffe was quickly spotted, with a number of Twitter users tackling the SuperValu Twitter account on the error.

Bit harsh @SuperValuIRL @TheGrammarGarda. I’m sure they’re perfectly nice turkeys. pic.twitter.com/84fM2qULKr — Deirdre Markham (@markhamvicz) October 16, 2014
The company has since issued an apology to all customers for any offence caused.
@MargaretBLeahy Apologies for the error in the text message today. This was a genuine mistake & not intended to cause offense.
