In what has become one of the more bizarre viral moments of the Winter Olympics, a Norwegian biathlete has admitted to cheating on girlfriend on live TV.
Sturla Laegreid won a bronze medal earlier today in the men's 20km individual biathlon event (cross-country skiing mixed with shooting).
However, in a strange turn of events, moments after claiming his podium place, the 28-year-old revealed on live TV that he had cheated on his girlfriend.
Tearing up, the Olympian said: "There is someone I wanted to share this with who might not be watching today.
"Six months ago, I met the love of my life. The most beautiful and wonderful person in the world.
"Three months ago, I made my biggest mistake and was unfaithful to her, and I told her about it a week ago.
"It has been the worst week of my life.
"I had the gold medal of life, and I’m sure there are many who see me in a different light now, but I only have eyes for her."
